StatementsIUCr Scientific Freedom Policy The Organizing Committee of the ElCryS24 shall observe the basic policy of non-discrimination and affirms the right and freedom of scientists to associate in international scientific activity without regard to such factors as ethnic origin, religion, citizenship, language, political stance, gender, sex or age, in accordance with the Statutes of the International Council for Science. IUCr Gender Balance The International Union of Crystallography strives to achieve gender balance in all its institutions and activities bearing in mind other diversity needs and its existing obligations to geographic and academic discipline representation where appropriate. To achieve this aim the IUCr will adopt procedures to promote gender balance in respect of all of its activities including selection of candidates for positions on its Committees and Commissions. Those seeking support from the Union for Congresses, meetings, workshops and schools will also have to demonstrate their efforts to address gender balance. ElCryS24 Code of conduct Following the Code of Conduct developed by the IUCr Gender Equity and Diversity Committee (GEDC), the ElCryS24 speakers, participants and sponsors are requested to:
ElCryS24 organizers agree with the more detailled IUCr GEDC Code of Conduct available here: https://www.iucr.org/iucr/governance/advisory-committees/gedc Any violation to the ElCryS24 Code of Conduct should be referred immediately to organizers (list below). ElCryS24 organizers will take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including issuing a warning, immediate removal from the school (without refund), and/or reporting the behaviour to the individual’s employer, funding agencies and relevant authorities.
